The concept behind Mr. Potato Head is quite simple. It indeed came from the simple but great idea of putting items on vegetables or fruits in order to form a funny face. At first, the idea of using vegetables to make a toy was greatly controversial, thus only the plastic parts got sold through cereal package games. The future Hasbro company bought the rights for the toy and sold it in the same way: only the body parts and parents would provide the vegetables to their children. The plastic potato was only added in 1964.
This great T-shirt features a black-and-white drawing of Mr. Potato Head together with the catchphrase "You want a piece of me?" which brings a humoristic touch to the design.
