Bruce Banner's story was developed as part of the brand new superhero line-up of Marvel Comics of the 1960s. Created by Stan Lee and other legendary comic book artists, the Incredible Hulk is based on the famous novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The comic used this idea of two opposed alter-egos taking control over each other in the same body. Bruce Banner is a brilliant but weak-willed scientist, whereas the Hulk is a not-so-bright but amazingly strong creature.
